(1) ZFE President
(2) ZFE Vice President Copperbelt
(3) ZFE Vice President Midlands
(4) ZFE Vice President Southern
(5) 3 ZFE Ordinary Directors
(An Affiliate to International Organisation of Employers and a Partner to the International Labour Organisation)
For the Regional Vice Presidents dates will be announced for members in the 3 ZFE Regions namely Midlands, Copperbelt and Southern to meet virtually and choose or elect a member of the Region to be floated at the AGM as the candidate for the Regional Vice President Position.
Nomination forms for elections should be submitted to the Executive Director not later than Wednesday, 9th April 2025. This is in line with clause ten (10) c of the Constitution of the Zambia Federation of Employers (ZFE) which states that “Any paid-up member willing to seek elections to the Board shall submit a nomination paper not later than four (4) working days to the Executive Director before the AGM”.
Please note that the valid nomination forms will be those with one (1) paid up member signing to nominate a paid up member seeking election and another paid up member seconding the nomination. Also note that for any individual to qualify to stand for elections, such an individual should have been for three years or more an officer of an employers’ organization or engaged in a management capacity for the past three years or more. In addition, and as provided for by the ZFE Constitution such an aspiring member should be sponsored by a member company that has registered as an Employer through the Office of the Labour Commissioner under section 63 of the Industrial and Labour Relations Act Cap 269 of the laws of Zambia. Therefore, a copy of the certificate of this registration should be attached to the nomination form.
While still on Board membership, the ZFE Constitution provides for co-option of up to 7 Board members from Employer Associations that are members of ZFE on a rotational basis. In order to manage the cost of holding Board meetings, the practice has been that 4 Board members have been co-opted in each Board Tenure as members of the ZFE Board of Directors. Therefore, once the elected or re-elected Board of Directors have been put in place by members at the forth coming AGM, the elected Board members will at their first sitting discuss to agree on 4 Employer Associations from which co-opted Board Members will be appointed.
Members will recall that for over a decade now members have been attending the ZFE AGMs at no fee to ZFE. The justification for this is that since members pay annual subscriptions to ZFE it is only fair that they attend the AGM to receive a report on the annual activities of ZFE and its audited Financial Statements at no fee. However, given the high cost of holding such a meeting and going by the current practice in membership organizations, members are hereby advised that this year’s 57th AGM will attract a participation fee as follows:
- Attending AGM and the preceding Workshop K 3, 800.00 per participant
- Attending AGM and not attending the workshop K 1,200.00 per participant
- Attending the preceding workshop only K 2,800.00 per participant
Members attending the activities as stated above can either pay their participation fees either by Cheque to the Zambia Federation of Employers or by bank transfer to Account No. 9130001827565 Stanbic Bank Lusaka Main Branch.
Kindly note that the fees stated above exclude accommodation and dinner as members are encouraged to make their own accommodation arrangements.
